HATHA YOGA
Hatha Yoga or Hatha Vidya was established by Yogi Swatmarama in 15th century. Swatmarama discussed Hatha Yoga as a preparatory practice which ultimately leads to higher meditation. Hatha is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). Hatha is creator of most styles of dynamic yoga traditions.Today, the term, hatha, is used in such a broad way that it is difficult to know what a particular hatha yoga class will be like. In most cases, however, it will be relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer and go deep in their awareness.
ASHTANGA YOGA
Developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, a vigorous style of specific asanas (postures) is sequenced to emphasize breath, strength, flexibility & endurance.
POWER YOGA
Two American yoga teachers, Beryl Bender Birch and Bryan Kest had invented Power Yoga.Power yoga is a vigorous, vinyasa-style yoga. The style resembles to Astanga. However, it allows teachers to use their freedom as there is no specific order in sequencing.
DHYANA FLOW
Dhyana flow is a vinyasa flow class and the goal is to build higher awareness while dynamically moving through the postures and keeping the breath deep and steady. Its an amazing treat to practitioner who love the intensity and equanimity at the same time.
ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA
In the ancient manuscript Yoga Korunta a system of Hatha Yoga is described. This system is practiced as Astanga Vinyasa Yoga. 'Astanga' stands for Eight Limbs of Raj Yoga and 'Vinyasa' means Breath-Synchronized Movement. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is the practice of moving the body in harmony with the breath to help induce a state of deep concentration. In Ashtanga vinyasa definite set of asanas are practiced in an order and the order is not broken unless it does not suite someone. It is a high intense work-out and amazing experience for exercise lovers.
